ENERGY TEAM MEMBER


FT/PT Position: 9 Month Contract Position

Location: Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Reports To: Community Energy Champion

Salary: $ 20.00 Hourly

Closing Date: June 15, 2026


Summary:

The Energy Team Member will receive work experience and relevant training in solar energy. Under the direction of the Community Energy Champion, the Energy Team member will play a crucial role in developing and implementing energy projects tailored to community needs. The role offers the flexibility of remote work and professional development.


Duties:

•Support and guide the community Energy Champion in project execution, including construction, management, and maintenance.

•Required to complete Milestone Based Training.

•Provide insights on community political dynamics and council policies.

•Stay updated on council policies, project developments, and administrative changes.

•Engage in Energy Team Training through workshops and assessments.

•Assist in project planning and coordination, including resource allocation and contractor liaison.

•Offer expertise in environmental and property management.

•Validate and refine the CED’s project analyses and proposals.

•Identify and address gaps in project analysis.

•Monitor political and administrative changes impacting project timelines.

•Provide necessary technical and administrative support.

•Attend energy conference for networking and industry updates.

•Complete walk-through energy audits of community and residential buildings.

•Learn about the funding opportunities for the community, utility rates, and renewable energy opportunities.

•Learn and be able to explain energy audit findings and deficiencies that can be addressed immediately, along with reviewing utility bills for any discrepancies and suggesting energy efficiency rebates to occupants.

•Accurately maintain and complete all necessary paperwork, records, and documents, etc.

•Any other duties as assigned or required.


Qualifications:

•A Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Band member is an asset.

•Passionate about the environment and or interested in learning about renewable energy.

•Ability to take direction.

•Must have good attendance, punctuality, reliability, dependability, and strong work ethic.

•Experience in renewable energy and battery energy storage systems is an asset

•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

•Must possess a valid G Class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

•Must be willing to submit to workplace drug testing.
