On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, a community lunch and workshop was hosted at the WLON Conference Centre. SMM, KGS Group and the WLON Coordinator introduced the tools the Fish Consumption Advisory Group developed to encourage safe fish consumption. Tools and techniques demonstrated included: a boat ruler sticker, fish consumption guide book, and monthly fish tracker. The activity stations demonstrated that generally smaller fish are better to eat and that the Province of Ontario’s safe fish consumption recommendations are different depending on: the species of fish, the lake it is from, and who is eating the fish.
